Shahid Kapoor recalls sticking posters of Ishq Vishk on the eve of the film’s release: ‘This was at 3 am’

Shahid Kapoor recently completed 20 years as a lead actor in the movies, and in a recent interview, he recalled sticking posters of his debut film Ishq Vishk outside a movie theatre one night before its release. Shahid recalled that he was extremely nervous before the film’s release, and couldn’t sleep at night. And so, he headed out for a drive with a friend when he chanced upon a person who was sticking the posters at 3 am.

Shahid told Radio Nasha that this was his “strongest memory” from this time, and shared, “There was this dude who was sticking some posters. This was at 3 in the morning. And it was my film’s poster. I just walked up to him and I said, ‘Can I stick this with you?’ He said yes. He was so sleepy and I stuck that poster. I don’t think he recognised me and I don’t think he cared who was on that poster, he was just doing his job,” he recalled.

Shahid added, “This was a really fun memory of mine that I stuck my own poster at 3 in the morning on the eve of the beginning of where I am now.” The Ken Ghosh film was a big hit at the time and proved to be a successful debut for Shahid.

The actor shared that at that time, college romances starred actors whose kids were attending colleges. He shared, “I think we were going through a time when most actors who were doing young college romances had children that age.” Calling Ishq Vishk an “honest” film, Shahid said, “Ken (Ghosh, director) wanted to just make a real film about real college kids who actually are college kids and who will speak and talk and behave like actually how kids behave in college, and that just connected.”

Before Ishq Vishk, Shahid appeared as a background dancer in films such as Taal and Dil To Pagal Hai. He was recently seen in the Jio Cinemas release Bloody Daddy.

vk758501 I too have a dream world of my own. I dream big, far and wide of the world that I live in. I am sad and afraid to live in such a world that is full of sins and negativity. I have a dream world where there is no violence, no hatred, no greed, but just peace, love and harmony. A world where mankind helps each other and is not jealous of each other, where people are not categorized based on their caste and creed, where there is no difference between the rich and poor, but rather considered as equals. A world where there is lots of fun and goodness and where it is safe for every human being who lives in there.
