Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan box office collection Day 2: Salman Khan film records a big jump, earns Rs 41.56 crore
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan box office collection Day 2: The Farhad Samji directorial has gathered momentum at the ticket counter after earning Rs 15.8 crore on first day.
Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which opened to largely negative reviews on April 21, managed to mint Rs 15.81 crore on the first day. The film witnessed a jump and collected Rs 25.75 crore on the second day, taking the total to Rs 41.56 crore. The family entertainer had an overall 27.05% Hindi occupancy on Saturday. Clearly, the Eid release affected the sales of the film positively on its second day.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan also marked Salman’s second-lowest first-day opening among his other Eid films. The 2010 film Dabangg had the lowest opening day collections (Rs 14.10 crore), while Bharat had the highest (Rs 42.30 crore). Of course, we now know that Dabangg ended up being declared a hit, while Bharat failed to mint the expected numbers. So before the crucial Monday test, it is difficult to say what lies in Salman’s film’s fate.
Given that the audience has rejected the remakes, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which is billed as a mass-market family entertainer, has performed well at the box office. Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada and Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee, which were remakes, tanked at the box office. Salman’s feature is said to be remake of the Ajith-starrer Veeram, which was a box office success in its time.
Helmed by Farhad Samji, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan also stars Pooja Hegde, Bhumika Chawla, Venkatesh Daggubati, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Vinali Bhatnagar, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam and Jassie Gill among others.
While the audience might have showered some love on the film, critics do not seem too impressed with it, as The Indian Express’ reviewer Shubhra Gupta wrote, “The fact that there’s no other name in the credit line of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is not accidental. Every one else in the cast is incidental to the non-existent plot, which exists only to serve the legend of Salman Khan, in and as Bhai and Jaan, aka Bhaijaan.”
